Located in Omachi, a town at the foot of the Northern Japan Alps, this museum is Japan’s first mountain-themed museum. The museum introduces the Alps from the perspectives of both science and the humanities.
An observation lounge is located on the third floor from which you can see a wide panorama of the Northern Japan Alps. A small zoo is also on-site and free to enter. Mountain animals and birds are reared and displayed here.
